The M2 chip excels. It’s as slick as you could imagine on performing general computing tasks. I’ve not tested it with video editing work - it’s not my thing. The new 15-inch format provides for noticeably larger screen real estate than previous models, both the screen image and the external Midnight blue colour are stunning [see photos!], though finger print marking comes as standard on the casing, as many have commented! A little annoying, but you just have to keep it polished, similar to when you purchased your new car!! Battery life of the M series from Apple is kind of crazy - all day for sure, and in normal use maybe even two days! The return of MagSafe: yes, it's back, but I can't say that I really missed it. Colour coded cable with the Midnight colour way - a nice touch! Overall it’s a MacBook Air - a wonderful product, of course! The latest models have moved away from the original wedge shape - maybe it’s served its time. The new design is still pleasing on the eye, and the overall shape and weight of product is still very portable. It will still turn heads, if that’s important to you! It will help you crunch through work too, which is even more important!

Bought mine in Midnight and have been using for a month now so thought I’d share some views in comparison to my previous 2014 15” MacBook Pro. Firstly the good bits: - There is no fan so it’s dead quiet. I’ve not yet found it gets hot at all for general web browsing, videos, multitasking with lots of tabs etc. - It’s about half a kilo lighter and quite a lot thinner. This means it’s much comfier to have on my lap and use. - The smaller bezels of the screen look lovely. Almost like a modern iPad which I think is pretty cool. - Touch ID is very useful for logging in. Open the screen, touch your finger and you’re in. I have set up different fingerprints for different accounts which is handy. - The keyboard is lovely. Nice short key travel but not rattly at all. The backlighting is much better than before and automatically changes and has very little light leak around the keys. The Escape key is now much bigger which is actually really useful for closing pop out videos or full screen things etc. - Battery life is fantastic. I can’t offer any real stats but I rarely need to charge it. - The Midnight colour is really beautiful. Looks very sleek and modern and changes quite a lot with the different lighting throughout the day which I didn’t know if I’d like but have to say it looks the business. - The speakers are remarkably good for what must be such a small unit. The point backwards so the sound bounces off the screen and at you which is a good solution. - The trackpad is huge and very accurate. Haptic feedback is also very good and means one fewer large moving part. There aren’t really any downsides to report, I will update this review if I find any but overall I’m very impressed. Let’s hope this one does the same 9 years as the MacBook Pro it replaces!
